Word’s getting out!

November 24th, 2005

Albert has enjoyed lots of press coverage recently, with sizeable articles in the Swindon Advertiser, Wiltshire Gazette & Herald, Western Daily Press and of course on GWR-FM.

This week ‘Albert’ will be appearing in local papers across the UK, including the Hereford Times and the Stirling Observer, and will shortly appear in the St Andrew’s Citizen and Lincolnshire Echo.

So it must be a good read if all the above journo’s can’t put it down for laughing!

Speech, speech - I’d like to thank my brain for thinking it, my family/friends/air force for inspiring it, my husband for driving me to it, my supply of egg custards for sustaining it and my piles for making me get off my arse and do some marketing…

Hot News

November 24th, 2005

I’ve been invited to speak at the prestigious Swindon Festival of Literature next year and will be appearing alongside the likes of Kate Adie and Germaine Greer. Hopefully I’ll see some of you there!

Oh, and Albert is now stocked by 180 Waterstone’s stores across the country. Onwards and upwards..

Success!

November 8th, 2005

What a fabulous day - I haven’t had that much fun since the last time I put on my wedding dress (and got married).

Thanks to Waterstone’s Swindon for:

a) giving me my first break
b) all the support I received at the launch and..
c) a continuing belief that Married to Albert is going to be their ‘discovered’ national hit

Also, must thank my mates who were daft enough to get roped into helping out. Steve my photographer stuffed with cold (okay - man flu) coped brilliantly with being bullied by my PR agent Helen O’Brien and GWR-FM Black Thunder Babes rocked the day away.

All I need to do now is sell more books and soon Jo Public will giggle his/her way to work reading more musings by yours truly. Watch out for a photo diary of the event - coming v soon!

Waterstones have discovered Married to Albert!

October 19th, 2005

Married to Albert will be launched in their Swindon store (Brunel Centre) on Saturday 5th November.

Pre and post launch article in the local paper. I will be there from 10am -4pm signing copies (in my wedding dress + air force hat). Also there are the GWR-FM Black Thunder babes!

Look out for the yummy mummies wearing Married to Albert t-shirts handing out flyers and a couple of pilots wandering around.

Is it programme or program

September 28th, 2005

Not been around for a while because I’ve tried out the pneumonia diet (didn’t work). And believe me, there are less drastic weight loss programmes! Anyway, it’s all back with a vengence thanks to dot com comfort shopping. Sometimes life gets you down and stress manifests itself in strange ways (other prisons too for that matter). But I did lay in my hospital bed trying to sleep myself better whilst next to me some more unfortunate soul plugged into a lawnmower (well it sounded like one) clung to life and made me realise I have books to write! Plus the vicar refused to let me have ‘does my bum look big in this’ as an epitaph. So here I am, back on form, back to work. Suppose I’d better go do some writing (could get a biscuit on the way…).
