Happy New Year

I trust you all had a good Fatmas (in for a penny in for a stone I always say). My darling husband got the call to return to Iraq on Christmas day (mid-turkey) and thus spent the afternoon trying to get a gun/crew/excuse. This meant for interesting conversations with our five year old for the rest of the holidays. But I managed to work out how to play a Gameboy Micro/transform a Shapeshifter and watched Spiderman ten times (go mums!). By the end of the festivities our TV top nativity crib had Batman parked inside and its pottery figures found less celestial roles driving JCB toys in the playroom. Kind a’ sums it all up doesn’t it.

So I am at the “hello wall” stage. The highlight of my nights is working on the sequel, having two gins and taking a hot water bottle upstairs at 10pm with a good book (oh yeah and the wheelbarrow full of chocolate). Thought I could enjoy the luxury of my own big warm bed for a while but no… Henry gets in just after midnight and Kate arrives around 3am. At 6am, Henry plays with his willy whilst reading politically correct Usborne books to his sister and Kate stands on my head.

Looking forward to having Daddy home is an understatement.
